Demonstration
- Most campus demonstrations will be peaceful and everyone should attempt to carry on business as normally as possible. Avoid provoking or obstructing the demonstrators.
- Notify the Director of Student Affairs at x384 and Campus Safety at x333. To avoid confrontation, use a private area when making the call.
- Campus Security will assess the situation. Participants who refuse to disperse may be arrested for a violation of the State Penal Code.
Civil Disturbance
A threatening disturbance should be reported immediately to Campus Safety at x333. The following procedures should be followed:
- Alert all employees in the area to the situation.
- Lock all doors, and secure all files, documents, and equipment.
- If necessary, cease operations and evacuate.
- Contact Campus Safety at x333 for further instructions if you are evacuated.
If a class or lecture is disrupted, the offending person(s) should be requested to leave. If they refuse, call Campus Safety at x333.
