Research-Informed Approach

SCU’s hazing prevention strategy is guided by evidence-based practices recommended by national organizations, including the Clery Center and StopHazing.org. These resources emphasize:

  • Collecting data on hazing risks through climate surveys and disclosure reports.

  • Using research-based training methods to promote awareness and bystander intervention.

  • Reviewing outcomes annually to ensure prevention efforts align with the latest studies on campus safety and student well-being.

By grounding our prevention programs in research, SCUHS ensures that our approach is not only compliant with federal and state law but also effective in building a healthier, safer campus community.
